In 2022, CORE started to cooperate with Scoptvision, a promising startup in the residential energy management systems market. Through a partnership in an innovation subsidy from the province of Flemish Brabant, CORE contributes to incorporating intelligence into their system. In the first phase, AI prediction models for solar production (from PV) and electricity consumption were developed. These models were integrated into an optimization framework, allowing the determination of the optimal electricity flow, taking into account prevailing prices and capacity tariffs. Based on this information, devices such as charging stations and home batteries can be intelligently controlled, helping people save both money and electricity! 

CORE is now working on the further development of the optimization framework, as well as testing this framework in real life. Apart from this, other tasks such as the development of a simulator and the development of prediction algorithms are currently being worked on.
